General Membership Meeting

Board Members Present:      Seleste, Sally, Andrea and Paula Rush

 

Meeting Brought to Order:   6:00pm

 

 

 

Seleste:  There will be no tuition for April.

 

Treasurer’s Report:     Balance still outstanding for Nationals:  $790.00.  Two choices: Divide among kids and have the families pay or have the money from the General Fund cover it and nobody would owe anything for Nationals.  A motion was made by Andrea to have the General Fund pay:  All were in favor.  Motion passed.

 

We will be leaving $200 in General Fund to start next season off with for expenses.

 

Banquet:  We’ve secured a facility at Bethany patio and Reception hall. We are just waiting for confirmation.  The date of the banquet will be Saturday, April 12th in the evening time.  Invitations will go out in March. 

 

After paying for awards and gifts for coaches we have approximately $900.  We would like to use this money to pay for catering and decorations – again, no money from families.  A motion was made to have the General Fund pay for banquet expenses:   The majority was in favor.  The motion passed.

 

Decoration committee:  Nationals.  If the parents want to take over and do the decorations for the cheerleader’s doors that would be great.  Nothing too large.  The largest one - half of poster board for each door.  We have to keep the peep holes and locking mechanisms and door knobs free from any decorations.  The Board would consider giving a small donation to the project of $25.  There are 41 girls/boy plus coaches’ rooms.  It should all be the same.  No streamers due to fire hazard.  Curly ribbon is okay on the stars.  A motion was made to have the General Fund pay for an order of “stars” or like decorations.  All were in favor and the motion was passes.

 

Next year Board positions:  There will be no meeting in April.  We will have one in May because new families will be here.  If you are interested in being on the

Board, please, come to the May meeting to find out what it’s all about.  We will have election in June for the 2008-2009 season. 

 

We need to think about advertising for try-outs.  Paula will look into having something in the Family Times and Shannon will look into KUIC doing something on the radio.  Jennifer will try to contact someone from the Reporter.  We will need to confirm the

try-out dates with Liz.

 

Everyone made a $200 deposit into their individual accounts that is available to get once receipts from cheer expenses are turned in.  Some of you do not have all or portions of your $200 since you have already turned in expense receipts.
