Election of Officers
Cathy Kerner discussed the need for elected officers for the club and requested volunteers. Concerns were raised over the lack of bylaws that would delineate the exact duties of each position. Liz suggested that Cathy K. act as a facilitator and temporary President until July thereby giving the club time to draft by-laws that would describe exactly what responsibilities each officer would be taking on.
Everyone concurred with this suggestion, which was further developed to include all officers. The following people volunteered to act in these positions until July at which time we will conduct an organized election for each position that will be open to everyone in the club.
Co-Presidents: Cathy Kerner & Rene Fitch
Vice President: [Vacant]
Secretary: Maurice Staley
Treasurer: Karen Sewell
Other items decided:
· Election terms for officers will run from July to July;
· At this time, the parents' club will be limited to the girls' competitive team and will not include the boys' or the prep teams;
· Group approved Cathy's suggestion that there be Level Representatives. These reps will pass on information to the other parents in their level and will be responsible for collecting funds and coordinating volunteer efforts among those parents. Representatives are:
Level 4 -- Robin Shimboff
Level 5 -- Carl Carlson
Level 6/Optionals -- Karen Wells

Upcoming Events:
Middle Earth Festival, Saturday, April 22

in downtown
Optionals' Award Banquet
Cathy Kerner discussed an award ceremony for the optionals girls, and for all non-optionals who hadn't ever previously competed, to be held in May. This event is comparable to the non-optional's ceremony held around Christmas time.
Team trophies will be purchased by parents' club; special awards, e.g., Aerial Award, Most Improved, etc., will be purchased by Aerials.
Karen Sewell and Liz Fortin volunteered to coordinate it.
Team Pictures
Cathy Kerner has arranged with Scott Sommers to come to the gym to take team & individual pictures for purchase. For every photo bought, the gym will earn $1 and the Parents' Club will earn $1. Picture dates are April 27 & 28 from 4:00 - 8:00.
DISCUSSION OF NON-AGENDA ITEMS:
I.
Nonprofit Status
The club now has the funds to pursue paying to have a nonprofit status application filed. No funds will be spent without submitting the matter to a vote at the next meeting, but those attending the meeting did agree to have Karen Sewell research the matter and obtain quotes for having the application filed. Additionally, Robin Shimboff will check with her aunt, who is a CPA, to see if she does nonprofit applications and, if so, what she would charge us.
II.
New Team Handbook
Annie reported that she is creating a new team handbook and
has asked for parents' input. All
