AGPA MINUTES FOR NOV. 11, 2006

Parents in attendance:  Kelly McConie, Marlin White, Sandy Fitz, Eugene McCall, Suzanne Murphy, Alice Troxell, Carl Carlson, Kathy Bull, Rene’ Fitch, MJ Clay and Vincent Durant.

There was no approval of prior meeting minutes because the Secretary, Wendy Purvis, was not present.  Therefore, there was no copy available.

The first item discussed was the purchase of Holiday gifts for the team coaches for the Holiday party.  It was debated what the gifts should be and how much APGA is willing to spend.  It was decided that the 3 new coaches (Aimee, Allison & Becca) would receive gift certificates in the amount of $30.  The other 5 coaches (Nikki, Jamie, Jen H, Jen P, and Kaelyn) would receive gift certificates in the amount of $50 and Tanya would receive a gift certificate for approximately $70-$80.  The spending limit was set at $500 total for coach gifts.  This was voted on and approved.

Several club members are going to check out different options such as restaurants, movies and spa services to see if we can get someone to give us a deal by contributing to our gifts if we buy in bulk.  Carl Carlson will check with Massage Envy, MJ Clay will check with The Retreat and Suzanne Murphy will check with The Athenian Grill.  It will be the Holiday Party Committee which will make the final decision as to what the exact gift is once they have researched our options, but it will be along the these lines approved at this meeting.

The Team Holiday Party sub-committee met on November 6, 2006 to discuss the holiday party.  Please see attached minutes from that meeting for more details.  At this meeting, we expanded on their thoughts.  It was decided that we would spend no more than $100 on pizza and that we would attempt to purchase $5 pizzas from Little Caesars or wherever we can get sufficient quantity for the price (Costco/WinnCo, etc.).  This final determination will be made by the sub-committee.  Their next meeting is Dec. 4.

Since the holiday party and PNO will be going on at the same time, Tanya and Kaelyn have agreed to divide their time between the two events so that both may enjoy the holiday party with their team.

Pizza, hot chocolate, hot cider and a cookie exchange will be available as snacks at the party.  The movie Elf (pg) will be shown on the projection screen.

Kelly McConie will create flyer to go in team member folders stating our holiday party plans.  Anyone wishing to NOT participate will need to notify Kelly prior to Dec. 1 or they will be included in the Secret Santa game.  Kelly will also gather a list of all team members (boys and girls) to Rene’ Fitch and Kathy Bull no later than Nov. 17.

Secret Santas will provide two gifts in the folder of their recipient the week of the party (Dec. 11-15) and a gift of $15 value at the party on Dec. 15.

A going away gift for Cari was discussed.  A party will be held in her honor at 7:00 pm on Mon. Nov. 20.  It was decided that AGPA would not contribute funds to this but that parents would contribute as they see fit.  Rene’  will get the cake, Kelly will get a basket and a bottle of wine, Sandy will give a bottle of sparkling cider and Cathy K. will put basket together with whatever else anyone contributes.  Kelly will e-mail team pics taken to Suzanne and she will develop picture of team to give as gift.  Brian Fitch will video each gymnast and have them give Cari a good-bye message on film and a CD will be given to Cari.

Rene’ Fitch has asked that all See’s Candy orders be turned into her by Nov. 20.  Candy will be delivered approx. 7-10 days after she places the final order.  Our goal is the 2nd week of Dec.  Also, please have checks made out to AGPA.

Eugene McCall has earned points for attending garage sale on Fri, Sat, & Sun from 7am -6pm.  Kelly will check with Cathy Kerner on how many points have been earned and will distribute funds appropriately into the McCall account.

Next AGPA meeting will be held on Dec. 11.  Kelly will provide Cathy Kerner list of all new level 4-10 girls and all boy gymnasts so that they can be invited to the parents club.

Kelly will provide Kathy Bull with AGPA tax id # for candy sales.
