AGPA MINUTES

December 11, 2006

We welcomed new level 4 parents as well as new parents from Northbay in Vallejo.

 

Christmas Party – Suzanne Murphy – December 15th from 6-9PM. Pizza to be brought in, baked goods donated, Secret Santa gifts underway. Please let Suzanne know if any girl has been left out of the Secret Santa fun by accident and she will take care of them. Coach’s gifts will be given that evening: 6 “spa getaways” @ $50 each and 3 restaurant certificates have been decided on. M.J. Clay will handle the spa packages. Kelly needs a total and something written from the establishment before she can write out a check for those services. Suzanne and Kelly will be here early that evening to set up. Kelly will check on the Coke donations for that evening. Concerns about the PG movie “ELF” as there will be a few younger children, but all parents have been notified this movie will be shown. Suzanne will bring Ice Age as back up.

 

Approval of November 13 minutes.

 

See’s Candy Fundraiser – Rene’ Fitch – total profit was $1,681.45. General Fund received 417.45 and individual accounts received 1,264. We agreed this was a good time to do the sales and will think about a Valentines and Easter sale. It was decided that the coordinator (Rene’) would receive 20% of the General Fund profit.

 

January Meet – Rene’ Fitch – sign up sheet coming within the week. Heather Markal filled the last coordinator position open: Donations. The theme is “Penguins” and Cathy Kerner would like us to look out for possible penguin decorations. It was decided that her decorating budget will be $200 this year. Annie needs to see any proposals of arrangements made with vendors, as sub-leasing rules apply. Elizabeth Tageson suggested that we put effort into decorating, food and awards, as that gets the girls excited about coming. Annie will look into ordering parent shirts for those working the meet. Suzanne will research the cost and availability of porta-potties. This meet has 5 sessions so far. Meet coordinator meeting to be held January 3 @ 6PM. We discussed raising admission fees and revisiting the program and score sheet idea. Annie will talk to Tanya about printing fees.

 

Camp – on new 2006-2007 Schedule of Events (can be found on the website). July is the month and Cathy is asking for input as to when is most convenient for everyone. There will be no team practice during that week. Check the “Woodward West” website for info about the camp.

 

Reno Meet – levels 9-10. Cathy talked about the individual bills that come in the mail for this event. Annie explained that meets within 100 miles are covered by the $30 representation fee, but meets outside the 100 miles have additional fees.
