Fun Run/Carnival:  The fun run is a non-competitive, untimed 1.5 mile run with exciting obstacles throughout the run.  The run starts at 9am on August 4th. There will be a kids carnival which starts at 10am and a BBQ which starts at 11am.  This event will be a fundraiser.  All the money from the fun run itself will go to the Childrens Miracle Network.  The carnival will be split between Cheer and Gymnastics Parents club.  The BBQ will be split 50% to Aerials gym, 25% to gymnastics parents club, and 25% to the Cheer parents club.  Set up will start at 8am on the 4th and tear down will be from 2-3pm that day, after the event.  Fitch will be meeting with cheer to go over more details.  It has been discussed that all the funds from this event will go directly to the Parents club fund.  There will not be a point split for parents.  A sign up sheet will be posted after Fitch meets with Cheer.

If you know of any places you can advertise for the fun run, you can pick up flyers from Annie Baker.  The Fun Run will currently be advertised in The 2 local newspapers, Craigslist,  Community Kids, The Breeze/Grapevine, and KUIC website.

Non-Profit Update:  We have received our non-profit number.  Murphy has the number and if you need letters with the number for donations, please contact Murphy.

Since we have the non-profit number, corporate donations were brought up.  Baker will find the paperwork she had made for banners, pricing and the price Aerials will charge the Parents club.  As soon as we get more info on banners and pricing, Corporate sponsors can be attained.  It was also mentioned by Murphy, that our banking account can only grow so much in a short period of time, since we are now non-profit.

Treasurer’s Report:  Murphy had point balances for parents who are interested in using points to cover fees.  If you would like to use your points to cover meet fees, please send an email to Suzanne Murphy at suzmurphy@yahoo.com.  Amount currently in account is $4126.  Some of the money will be leaving the account to cover leotard and sweatsuits, the appx. Amount after all costs is about $2500.

.Level 1-3 Meet Sept 8th:  This is the day before our American Pride meet at the gym.  It is possible our Sept 9th meet might turn into 2 days.  The mini-meet will then either be held in the morning or possibly moved, depending if our meet grows to 2 days.

September 9th Meet:  VERY IMPORTANT: There will be a meeting August 6th at 6:30pm to go over the points values and split of the meet fees.  If you would like to have any say on the split, or point values – please attend this meeting.  We will be voting on if there will be a split or how points will be sorted.

An additional Sept. 9th sub-committee meeting date/signup will be set at this meeting.

Also Markovich mentioned that team members that help work at the meet, can or should receive a meal ticket or snack ticket for their work.  Points will not be given to the team members.  Majority of people agreed.  We can go over this again at the August 6th meeting if someone does not agree.

OPEN ITEMS:

Spirit Wear – Team Sweat shirts:  Parents asked about the need for the Team Sweatshirt.  Baker responded that the sweatshirt will be needed for events in the community.  The sweatshirt is the only item that is exactly the same for the Boys and Girls team members and also looks the same for the Cheer team (Except theirs says Cheer instead of Gymnastics)  Aerials is/has become a premiere childrens sports facility and the presence of Aerials is being requested more and more at community events.

Spirit Wear – Tank Tops and Ribbed shirts:  These items ARE NOT pre shrunk.  You should consider going up a size or 2.  They do shrink.

Arizona Meet in February 08’ – This meet was brought up at the meeting.  It is open to level 4 and up and is an optional (not mandatory) meet.  Parents are starting to look into discounted hotel and Airfare rates.  When more information is known about this meet and travel arrangements, it will be passed on.

Pizza Thursdays:  There are only 2 pizza days left.  July 12th – Michael York,   July 26th – Carl Carlson

Meeting adjourned at 8pm
