AGPA MINUTES
September 17th, 2007
Meeting started at 6:35pm
Parents in Attendance:
Rene Fitch, Eugene McCall, Michael York, Carl Carlson, Chess DeSouza, Marlin
White, Annie Baker, Kathy Bull, Cathy Kerner, Kelli Thomas, Melissa Black, Marcia Buslett,
and Sue York.
Approval of Minutes for August:
Motion was made to approve minutes for August. Marcia Buslett made
first motion, Rene Fitch second the motion.
Treasurer’s Report: Suzanne
Murphy was not at the meeting but it was mentioned that Aerials Parents Club
made about $5000 from the meet. If you
have receipts, please turn them into Suzanne so that you can be given money due
to you.
Nacho Sales: Michael York
signed up for September 21st.
If no one signs up for next week, the food sales will have to be offered
to cheer. If you would like to sign up

September 9th Meet: Overall
the meet went well and better than last year.
The actual day that the meet is on is chosen by the Norcal
judging association.
Complaints about the meet: Bathroom lines were way too long. We definitely need porta
pottys next year.
Heat was a huge factor, many people complained about the gym being
extremely hot. Judges complained that
there were not any items with protein for breakfast.
Next meet – Look into renting
portable grandstands for seating, rent port a potties, Move t-shirt guy to
front area to free up gym sitting space, mark and control all exits that are
not the main entry.
Budget – A budget definitely needs to be made. We want to try to have about Ten thousand
dollars in Parents club account to pay for state, national, regional
meets. Budget year should run from May
to May.
Much discussion was made on the
amount to keep in the account, if we should have points
for parents and who and what gymnasts would be able to use funds, even if their
parents never volunteer or if they never helped with the parents club.
Some think it should be that both
accounts should be available – the fund that would fund all the coaches fees
and meets after the regular season and the point system that can help parents
and gymnast pay for parts of their gymnastic journey.
If parents club took on the
complete meet responsibilities – entering gymnasts, registering for other meets
and meeting deadlines. Parents club
could make a large amount of money for that responsibility and would be able to
fund the bank account.
We would need at least 2
treasurers to take on this responsibility.
Sponsorship letter – Chess DeSouza and any
one who would like to help, will be working on a
monetary donation sponsor letter. Once
the letter is completely finished, it will be sent out to business looking for
support for the whole parents club, not just for individual members. The funds that hopefully will be received can
cover expenses for the Awards Banquet, coaches fees to zones, state, regional
and national meets and can hopefully help with costs for camp. If you would like to help send letters out or
