AGPA MINUTES

October 1st, 2007

 

Meeting started at 6:35pm

 

Parents in Attendance: Rene Fitch, Eugene, Michael York, Chess  DeSouza, Marlin White, and Suzanne Murphy.

 

Approval of Minutes for September:   Motion was made to approve minutes for September.  Suzanne Murphy made first motion, Rene Fitch second the motion.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Suzanne Murphy reported that the total of the general fund is $8269.  $4020 is in points.  Suzanne has asked that we use our points to pay for the fees due in November.  We would like to have money flowing in and out of the account.

 

Nacho Sales:  It is now the Cheerleader’s month to sell food on Thursdays.  They are selling hot dog meals on Thursday’s in October.  We will begin selling food again on Thursdays next month. (November)  We are currently scheduled to sell chili but Nacho Sales went extremely well.  We will talk about what food will be sold at our next meeting in November.

 

See’s Candy Fundraiser:  The See’s Candy fundraiser will start in November after our parents club meeting.  The fundraiser was a huge success last year and we hope for it to be a huge success again this year.  Everyone is invited to sell the candy!

 

Budget – A budget proposal was made by Suzanne Murphy.  This is a rough draft but is great to have as a guideline.  So far the only change to it will be that the budget will run from May to May.  A copy of the budget will be kept with this meetings minutes.  If you would like to add items to the budget or think something is left out, please bring it up at the meeting in November.

                                                           

Christmas Party for the Team:  This will be discussed at the November meeting.  If you are interested in taking part in the planning of this event, please plan on attending the November meeting.

 

Consignment leotard Sale – This was a great success.  We sold 38 leotards at this event.  The parents club made a profit of approximately $105.  Thank you to the White Family and the Collette family for donating proceeds of your leotards to the parents club.

We did have 2 long sleeve leotards go missing but we are hoping that they will turn up.   For the next sale, pass out flyers and advertise at least 2 weeks before the event.  We only advertised the week before.

 

Storage:  Drinks are slowly missing from our donated items.  Storage is definitely needed for the drinks, decorations and any other items donated to the parents club.  Tanya offered to let the Parents club build storage by the bathrooms, to rent it there would be a small monthly fee.  Michael York is looking into some prices from some storage companies to see what monthly fees would be for an off site storage facilities.

 

Meet Fees:  At last meeting it was brought up that the Parents Club could possibly take over the meet fees and registration to bring in extra cash for the club.  It has been decided that it will not work for now.
